First Lady Esther Lungu donates to Special Olympics Athletes

First Lady Esther Lungu, on Saturday 3rd December, 2016 donated K15, 000 to the 150 children with intellectual disabilities who are part of the Special Olympics Zambia. Zambian Athletes Leave For 2016 Rio Olympic Games

Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) Director Clement Chileshe, says he is optimistic that the Zambian athletes who have left the country to participate at the 2016 Rio De Genero Olympic Games in Brazil will bring honor and positive results to the nation. Congolese national wins 1st African Draughts-64 tourney

Zambian based Congolese draughts player, Richard Mwammba, was on Tuesday night crowned ‘International Draughts Grand Master’ after winning the first ever African Draughts-64 Championship held at the Olympic Youth Development Centre in Lusaka, Zambia. Mwammba, emerged winner after scoring 14 points after “Round 9” beating his closest rival Moses Winesi, from Malawi who scored 13 points leaving him astonished after the loss.
