Zambia beats Zimbabwe 30-16 as handball tournament kicks off

Zambia is currently hosting the IHF Trophy Zone VI Games which started today and will come to a close on the 16th June, 2019. The games involve the U20 and U17 Handball Female teams and have been selected from ten African countries.Some of the countries that are participating include; Madagascar, Seychelles, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Lesotho, Zimbabwe Botswana, and Zambia. Teulings Beach Volleyball attracts more youths

Teulings Beach Volleyball Coordinator Isaac Tembo, has disclosed that the sport at OYDC is receiving positive response from the time it was introduced. Tembo, notes with happiness that a number of players who started from the Teulings league games have now graduated to join the national team and have participated in a number of local and international competition. He added that on Saturday the Teulings Beach Volleyball games saw six teams participating in the games.

Government challenges coaches to qualify athletes to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

Olympafrica netball team impress OYDC programmes officer

Olympafrica Netball Team over the weekend dominated the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge with the spirit of winning all the games played. OYDC Programmes Officer Mellisa Manjonga, expressed delight that athletes have continued to show the zeal for the sport of netball adding that this is keeping them busy from unlike indulging in illicit activities on communities. NAPSA Breeze and Matero Legends Basketball Teams reign supreme

NAPSA Breeze and Matero Legends emerged winners of the “Hoop it Up” 1st Annual 3v3 Basketball tournament in the senior women and mens categories respectively. The tournament took place at OYDC and attracted teams like UNZA, Kalema’s Girls, NAPSA Hurricane and many others. In the womens round robin, NAPSA Breeze, won all the games emerging the champions of the tournament while Matero Legends were crowned champions in the men’s round robin. Taekwondo athletes showcase “super kicks”

ZedLion Taekwondo players yesterday put up a great performance at OYDC during the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge. The athletes train and conduct other activities at OYDC in preparation of local and other competitions. The fights were in the U10 to U17 categories respectively. OYDC and Kafue Celtics sign MoU

OYDC and Kafue Celtics Football Club have signed a three year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will see the team have access to the multsports facility. The MoU runs from 2019 to 2021. During the signing ceremony held at the OYDC, Centre Director Dr Fredrick Chitangala, called on other sports clubs and corporate entities to emulate Kafue Celtics also known as TheCrocs and consider to partner with the centre. OYDC hosts president Edgar Lungu

The OYDC this morning hosted president H.E President Edgar C. Lungu, who came to launch the 2019 Health Week organised by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Child Development.
