Chance Kabaghe Begins Term with Strategic Engagement with OYDC Zambia Management

OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre officially welcomed its new Board Chairperson, Mr. Chance Kabaghe, who has taken up his role with a strong commitment to youth empowerment and institutional growth.

Following his introduction by the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) President Mr. Alfred Foloko, Mr. Kabaghe engaged further with the Centre’s leadership.

Mr. Kabaghe held a closed-door meeting with the OYDC Zambia management team, led by Acting Chief Executive Officer Benjamin Tembo. During the meeting, Mr. Tembo provided a comprehensive briefing on the Centre’s operations, programmes, and strategic priorities aimed at promoting youth development through sport, education, and life skills.

As part of his familiarization tour, the new Board Chairperson also visited key facilities at the Centre, including the on-site lodge, expressing appreciation for the infrastructure and the Centre’s role in transforming lives. The visit marked an important step in setting the tone for his term, which is expected to focus on strengthening institutional capacity, partnerships, and sustainability.

Mr. Kabaghe is expected to chair his first official OYDC Zambia Board meeting in August 2025.
