Young tennis players gathered for the Tennis Unity Cup at OYDC Zambia Sports Development Centre, a tournament that celebrated sport as a powerful tool for bringing young people together.

The event was made possible through the support of dedicated volunteers from Germany, Luisa Benson and Jannik Schneider, who worked alongside OYDC Zambia Staff to deliver a lasting experience for young tennis players.

The Tennis Unity Cup provided young athletes with an opportunity to showcase their talent, improve their skills, and build lasting friendships in an environment that promoted teamwork, discipline and mutual respect.

Speaking during the event, OYDC Zambia non programs officer Richard Mulenga expressed appreciation to Luisa Benson and Jannik Schneider for their commitment to youth development and for sharing their knowledge and experience with aspiring tennis players in Zambia.

Hosted at OYDC Zambia, the tournament reaffirmed the centre’s commitment to creating inclusive sporting opportunities that empower young people while fostering cultural exchange through sport.

As the event concluded, players, coaches and volunteers celebrated not only the winners on the court but also the friendships, experiences and values that will continue to inspire the next generation of athletes.
