Teulings Youth Sports Challenge Lights Up Weekend with Football, Netball, Judo and Baseball5 Action

The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge once again delivered an exciting weekend of youth sport at the OYDC-Zambia Sports Development Centre, bringing together young athletes from various communities and clubs to compete in football, netball, judo, and Baseball5.

The competition continues to provide a valuable platform for young people to develop their sporting talents while promoting teamwork, discipline, and healthy lifestyles.

The football competition saw both boys’ and girls’ teams battle for victory in a series of competitive matches.

In the girls’ category, Olympic Flying Queens secured a 2-0 victory over Njhovu Queens, while Zanimuone Girls recorded an impressive 2-0 win against Olympafrica Queens.

The boys’ division produced equally exciting encounters. OYDC Boys edged Beacon of Hope 2-1 in a closely contested match, while Olympafrica Boys cruised to a 3-0 victory over CR7. Mighty Rangers also collected maximum points after defeating Tellos 2-0.

The netball courts were filled with excitement as teams competed in a series of thrilling fixtures.

Matero secured a hard-fought 7-5 victory over Chipata SIA, while Kabanana Swift defeated OYDC 8-4 in another competitive encounter.

Olympafrica recorded a 6-3 win over Garden Bullets, and Zangalumme delivered one of the most dominant performances of the day with a 10-3 victory against Fungai.

In the final fixture, Shinning Lights overcame Our Rainbow 5-3 to round off an entertaining day of netball action.

The weekend also featured outstanding performances in judo as clubs competed in the Teulings Youth Challenge.

GBJC emerged as the top-performing club with an impressive 74 points to claim first place. Nkwazi followed in second position with 43 points, while Ippon secured third place with 17 points.

SHA finished fourth with eight points, Red Arrows claimed fifth place with five points, Green Eagles finished sixth with three points, and Hyo Jeong completed the standings with one point.

Baseball5 was among the sports featured during the weekend’s activities, with young athletes taking part in the fast-growing discipline. The sport continues to gain popularity among youths due to its fast-paced nature, accessibility, and emphasis on teamwork and coordination.
