OYDC Zambia’s Young Leaders Promote Olympic Values and Clean Sport

Lusaka – 7 June 2025

Young Leaders at the OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre took action to promote clean sport and environmental responsibility as part of their engagement with the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP).

The youth-led initiative combined education and practical action, with sessions on the core Olympic values of excellence, respect, and friendship, followed by a clean-up exercise around the OYDC facility. The clean-up symbolized their commitment to integrity in sport and a clean, healthy environment.

The initiative aligns with OYDC Zambia’s mission to develop responsible, value-driven young athletes both on and off the field. It also supports global efforts to use sport as a tool for education and positive social change.

The Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP), developed by the International Olympic Committee, empowers young people to live by the values of Olympism through sport and community action.
