OYDC Teqball Club thrashes opponents

OYDC Teqball Club Saturday 8 July 2023 shocked opponents during the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge by winning all games played.

The three players who represented Zambia at the 2023 African Beach Games in Tunisia Natasha Nanyangwe, Mutale Chishimba and Patrick Sikazwe were among those who ensured that OYDC Teqball Club reigns supreme at the end of the day.

The player Chishimba Mutale said, “We are not the best, but you can see how we have been winning this Teulings league in teqball. Most of my fellow players are happy with every skill shown. And am sure this intimidates our opponents”.

He added that he looks forward to the year’s end when the grand finale will be hosted at the Centre so that his club can be crowned champions.

Meanwhile, club coach Richard Mulenga was out of words with the performance of his athletes.

The club was competing with players from Olympafrica in the singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.

Mulenga says athletes keep improving whenever they are in the field of play adding that it was motivating to see the trio getting called to the national team and did represent Zambia well during the teqball beach games in Tunisia.

Meanwhile, the OYDC Zambia was a hive of activities as several young talented athletes thronged the facility to compete in boxing, rugby and handball.

Over 300 athletes were present at the Centre and enjoyed with joy written all over their faces as some imagined competing like it was at the Youth Olympic and youth commonwealth games.
