Team Zambia’s lawn bowls pair, Gertrude Siame and Foster Banda, concluded their Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games campaign after a hard-fought quarterfinal contest against Singapore.

The Zambian duo made an outstanding start, dominating the opening set with an emphatic 11–1 victory. Singapore, however, regrouped in the second set to claim a narrow 4–3 win, sending the match into a decisive tie-break.

Despite a determined effort, Zambia fell short in the tie-break, ending their journey in the pairs competition.

While the result means they miss out on a semifinal berth, Gertrude Siame and Foster Banda displayed remarkable skill, composure, and fighting spirit throughout the tournament. Their performances have been a proud representation of Zambia on the Commonwealth stage.
