Teulings Youth Sports Challenge Delivers Exciting Weekend of Youth Sport at OYDC Zambia

The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge continued over the weekend at OYDC Zambia, bringing together young athletes in a celebration of sport, competition, and youth development.
The event featured exciting action in handball, taekwondo, beach volleyball, and hockey, with participants showcasing their talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the weekend.
Handball League Produces Thrilling Encounters
The Handball Challenge League delivered a series of competitive matches as teams battled for valuable points in Week 5 fixtures.

OYDC A HC started strongly with a narrow 12-11 victory over Lycee Francaise HC before recording additional wins against Mt Zion HC (10-0), Olympafrica HC (7-4), and CTR HC (10-0).
Olympafrica HC registered a convincing 7-2 win over Ridgeway HC and later secured a 10-0 victory against Mt Zion HC. Meanwhile, Mt Eugen HC and CTR HC played out an entertaining 10-10 draw.
Kasisi Dynamite HC recorded a dominant 10-0 victory over Kali Legacy, while Lycee Francaise HC also defeated Kali Legacy 10-0. Ridgeway HC enjoyed a successful outing with victories over Mt Zion HC and Kali Legacy.
The weekend’s results highlighted the growing competitiveness of the league as teams continue their pursuit of top honours.
Taekwondo Athletes Impress

The Taekwondo competition saw young athletes compete fiercely across several age categories.
In the Under-17 Boys division, Richard Mumba of Lusaka Leopard claimed first place ahead of Haggai Muyembe of Zed Lion, while Elias Ngulube of OYDC finished third.
The Under-14 Boys category was won by Abel Kinda of Strike Force. Benson of OYDC secured second place, while Robert Phiri of Strike Force completed the podium.
Andrew Zulu of Red Scorpion emerged victorious in the Under-12 Boys division, followed by teammate Emmanuel Banda in second place and Isaac Phiri of Strike Force in third.
Among the girls, Florence Tembo of Lusaka Leopard topped the Under-17 category ahead of OYDC’s Nalishebo Kamwi and Catherine Nambela.
Susan Gondwe won the Under-12 Girls competition, with Judith Tembo finishing second and Martha Nambela taking third place.
Beach Volleyball Delivers Exciting Action

The OYDC Beach Volleyball Courts hosted a number of exciting matches as young players showcased their skills on the sand.
In the girls’ competition, Masanga and Musole of OYDC defeated Mapalo and Esther of Mandevu 2-1 before recording another impressive 2-0 victory over Jessica and Witness of Chazanga.
Jessica and Witness had earlier secured a 2-0 win over Ruth and Anna of Chunga, while Matilda and Anita of OYDC overcame Mapalo and Esther 2-1. Bernadette and Taorai of Chunga also recorded a 2-0 victory over Ruth and Anna.
In the boys’ category, Bukata and Seven of Munali edged Moses and Antonio of Olympafrica 2-1 in a closely contested match.

Beyond the results, the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge continues to provide an important platform for young people to participate in organised sport, develop life skills, and build confidence through competition.
The weekend also featured hockey activities, further demonstrating the event’s commitment to offering diverse sporting opportunities for young athletes.
