YOUNG BOXER CRIES FOUL AFTER LOSING BOUT

A young boxer Daniel Banda of Exodus Boxing Academy on Saturday 11 May 2024 cried foul after he lost his bout to Harrison Banda of Petku Boxing Academy in a 3-2.

Daniel Banda is best known for his fast-paced punches in a boxing ring making spectators astonished to the point of feeling like they had been watching professional boxing matches and believed that the judges were unfair to him such that he lost the bout during the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge.

He narrated to our media team that despite nearly knocking down his opponent this is the second fight he is losing in 2024 stating that in 2023 he had over eleven fights and only lost one fight on Saturday, 30 September 2023. He lost to Miracle Chibota of Youth Empowerment on a 4-1 split decision in the 30kg weight category. 

And winner Harrison Banda said the duo had a fair play stating judges were fair enough to declare the winner whom they felt was good in the ring. He advised his losing friend to call for a rematch if he felt aggrieved stating that he would be flogged to the point that he would quit boxing.

The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge at the OYDC Zambia is getting intense as most of the athletes in several sports disciplines are fighting for supremacy as the day for the midyear Teulings tournament approaches on 13 July 2024. The Teulings games are sponsored by Coen Teulings Chairman of Merifin Capital in Belgium.

Meanwhile, the OYDC Zambia aside from boxing had hosted games in rugby and handball. Athletes from different clubs were at the centre to take part in this well-organized league.
