ZAM-ZIM Handball Festival Successfully Hosted at OYDC Zambia Sports Development Centre

OYDC Zambia was a hive of activity as it played host to the highly anticipated 2025 Zambia-Zimbabwe Handball Annual Festival, a partnership initiative aimed at strengthening the relationship between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The festival brought together talented athletes and officials from both nations, creating a vibrant atmosphere of competition, friendship, and cultural exchange.
The event, which has become an important fixture on the regional sports calendar, is designed to promote collaboration between Zambia and Zimbabwe through handball, while also offering young athletes a platform to showcase their talent and gain international exposure.

Acting CEO of OYDC Zambia, Mr. Benjamin Tembo, officiated the closing ceremony and presented trophies to the winning teams. He congratulated all participants for their commitment and encouraged the expansion of the festival, noting that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening bilateral relations and fostering sports development.
The Local Organizing Committee, led by OYDC Zambia’s Non-Sports Programmes Officer, Mr. Richard Mulenga, expressed pride in successfully hosting the event. He praised the cooperation between the two countries’ handball bodies and pledged to make next year’s festival even bigger and better, with plans to invite more clubs and increase athlete participation.
