“OUR DUTY REMAINS TO MAKE FACILITIES AVAILABLE TO SPORTS ASSOCIATIONS,” SAYS OYDC CEO DR CHITANGALA

OYDC Zambia Chief Executive Officer Dr Fredrick Chitangala is happy with the turnout of athletes coming to compete in the 2024 Teulings Youth Sports Challenge at the sports facility.

Dr Chitangala says a week after the games for the year 2024 commenced the number of teams, athletes and clubs coming for games is motivating stating that management has always been determined to work with sports associations who continue sending athletes to compete in these games.

Dr Chitangala says despite the centre encountering several challenges in its quest to renovate some of the worn-out facilities management remains resolute in work and supports several sports associations by nurturing young talented athletes at the grassroots level who later get to be given chances to showcase their sporting skills in national teams and clubs.

Dr Chitangala disclosed this after touring Saturday’s weekend games on 24 February the OYDC Zambia organised under the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge supported by Coen Teulings Chairman of Merifin Capital in Belgium.

Some sports activities conducted were in Rugby, Baseball5, Beach Volleyball, and Boxing.

The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge remains the most fascinating youthful league in Zambia engaging talented boys and girls under the age of 20 years of which some have gone as far as playing in competitive games such as the African Games, Youth Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, and the AUSC Region 5 Games after graduating from the league and getting selected to national teams and clubs.
