2025 National Youth Games Hosted at OYDC Zambia

OYDC Zambia successfully hosted the National Youth Games 2025, attracting thousands of young athletes from all 10 provinces of Zambia. The games were organized by the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts through the National Sports Council of Zambia

The games, launched by Hon. Elvis Nkandu, Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts, concluded with a colourful closing ceremony at OYDC Zambia. The Guest of Honour, Hon. Nkandu, was represented by Permanent Secretary Kangwa Chileshe, who encouraged athletes to embrace the opportunities provided by the games and highlighted the event as a key pathway for talent identification and development.

The successful hosting of the National Youth Games 2025 reaffirmed OYDC Zambia’s commitment to youth development, high-performance sport, and nurturing Zambia’s future national athletes.
The National Youth Games run from 16th -18th December, 2025 with young people competing in different sports codes including Chess, Judo,Karate,Netball,Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Special Olympics, Athletics among others.
