Zambia Under17 & 20 Handball National Teams Prepare for IHF Trophy Zone VI Tournament at OYDC Zambia

The Zambia Under-20 and Under-17 Women’s Handball National Teams have entered camp and are training at the OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre, intensifying preparations ahead of the upcoming IHF Trophy Zone VI Tournament set to take place in Harare, Zimbabwe, from April 28 to May 4, 2025.
The regional competition serves as a qualifying tournament for the continental phase of the IHF Trophy, and Zambia will be looking to secure spots in the next round by delivering strong performances in Harare.
Under 20 National Team coach Henry Ngosa expressed optimism about the teams’ readiness and commended the players’ commitment during training.

“Given our experience at similar championships, we believe our girls are in a strong position to compete. Looking at how much effort they’ve put into preparations, I believe they are ready to compete and bring medals back home to Zambia,” said Ngosa.
He also took the opportunity to call on the government and stakeholders to continue supporting handball development in the country.

“We appeal to the government to take a leading role in supporting national teams. Adequate preparation is key if we are to perform well in international competitions,” he added.
