Hockey, Rugby, Table Tennis and Basketball Take Centre Stage at the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge at OYDC Zambia.

The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge (TYSC) 2026 continued to deliver excitement and competitive spirit as young athletes gathered for another thrilling weekend of sporting action. With hockey, rugby, table tennis, and basketball taking the spotlight, the event once again showcased the growing talent and passion for sport among young people.

Hosted at OYDC Zambia, the competition brought together teams that demonstrated impressive skills, teamwork, and determination across the different sporting disciplines.

Basketball matches proved to be one of the highlights of the day, with teams battling fiercely across several age categories. In the girls’ division, Olympafrica produced a strong performance to defeat SIA 5–1, before edging BOH 3–2 in a closely contested match. BOH also recorded a narrow 3–2 victory over Lilanda West, highlighting the competitiveness of the girls’ category.

In the Under-13 boys’ division, teams displayed promising young talent. SIA secured a convincing 5–2 win over OYDC, while Magic defeated Lilanda West 4–2. In another exciting match, Lilanda West bounced back with a 6–3 victory over Olympafrica, showing the unpredictable nature of the competition.

The Under-16 boys’ matches were equally entertaining. OYDC delivered an impressive performance to defeat SIA 7–3 and later dominated Lilanda West 6–1. Meanwhile, Olympafrica secured a hard-fought 13–12 victory over SIA in one of the most thrilling games of the day.

In the Under-19 category, OYDC A stood out with strong performances, beating SIA 7–4 and Olympafrica 5–1. Magic also impressed with commanding victories over OYDC B (10–1) and Lilanda Heats (5–3).

Beyond the basketball courts, rugby and hockey matches added energy and excitement to the day’s program with table tennis matches displaying excellent reflexes, concentration, and technique. The fast-paced rallies and close contests reflected the growing popularity of the sport among young athletes.

The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge continues to serve as an important platform for youth development through sport. By bringing together athletes from different communities, the program promotes participation, discipline, teamwork, and healthy competition.

OYDC Zambia reaffirmed its commitment to providing a safe and inclusive sporting environment where young athletes can develop their talents and build character both on and off the field.
