Judokas battle it out as Zambia Army continues to outshine others

Judokas on 4 September 2021 battled it out at the OYDC with Zambia army team emerging victorious.

OYDC hosted the Teulings/OYDC Youth Sports Challenge where five sports disciplines judo, basketball, hockey, football and teqball had participation from different teams.

Zambia Army judo team scored 50 points to maintain its top spot. The team before the games were suspended was topping the log standing.

In Saturday’s games Zambia Police and Livingston judo teams scored 14 points each with OYDC’s team scoring 3 points.

Zambia Judo Association (ZJA) Communications and Adminstration Officer Carol Chanda Chipupu says the competition has become more competitive adding that all the teams will be used to identify players who will form the team to represent Zambia at the Region 5 games set for Lesotho.

Meanwhile, OYDC judo team coach Mathews Mwango disclosed that his athletes couldn’t performal better because they had stayed for a number of weeks without training after the Centre had suspended some sporting activities.

Mwango has expressed eager that the boys and girls will in the coming Teulings Youth Sports Challenge outshine their opponents following the reeumunt if all sports activities at OYDC.The games were witnessed by National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) president Alfred Foloko who expressed happiness at the turn out of teams who participated in the games.
