OlympAfrica taekwondo athlete Tembo beats opponent in five seconds

OlympAfrica taekwondo athlete Luckson Tembo on Saturday 23 October flogged his opponent Wilson Malambo from Zed Lion in five seconds during the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge.

Tembo could not believe that he won the fight in seconds using the “Bandae Yeop Chagi”.

He disclosed that the feeling after winning was motivating adding that he looks forward to the day he will be known as the best taekwondo athlete in Zambia.

The 12 year old athlete further urged other athletes to be consistent with training if they are to win fights.

And losing athlete Wilson Malambo who looked emotional after getting beaten in five seconds conceded defeat and vowed to comeback with a better skill to win.

About 22 fights were played by seven teams which include; OYDC, Mercenaries, Lusaka Leopards, Lusaka’West, Venus OlympAfrica and Zed Lions.

The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge was organised by OYDC and saw boxing, netball, rugby, handball, beach volleyball, and taekwondo receiving athletes to compete in different age categories.

The OYDC/Teulings Youth Sports Challenge grand finale will be held at the end of the year where top deserving players from eleven sports disciplines will be rewarded with trophies and medals. The competition has been running at OYDC since 2011 and is supported by Coen Teulings Chairman of Merifin Capital in Belgium.
