Ten teams participate in Teulings hockey league

Ten teams on Saturday took part in the U15 Teulings Hockey League games which took place at the Olympic Youth Development Centre.

Bright Boys, Ark Boys, Evergreen, ShiningStars1, Black Stars, Black Boys, City, Shinning 1, are some of the teams that played the weekend “7aside” Teulings games.

All the teams were selected from communities surrounding the Olympic Youth Development Centre. A total of 100 players formed the ten teams as they prepare for the 2018 Teulings Youth Sport Challenge “Grand Finale” which will be held on the 27th October, 2018.

Miundayi Makayi is a coach and says “The turnout was impressive. The boys and girls have continued to show the zeal for the sport of hockey. They are inspired with the U18 male hockey team which is currently in Argentina for the Summer Youth Olympic Games”.

Makayi has urged parents to allow their children to find their way to OYDC after school hours to take up hockey or other sports disciplines at the Olympic Youth Development Centre.
