TEULINGS REPRESENTATIVE HANS BERTELS WISHES TEAM ZAMBIA THE BEST OF LUCK AS THEY PREPARE FOR REGION 5 GAMES
Hans Bertels the representative of Coen Teulings, Chairman of Merifin Capital in Belgium has wished Team Zambia bound for the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Games in Lilongwe Malawi the best of luck.
Bertels says he is happy to note that some of the athletes making up Team Zambia have been picked from the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge a competition that the OYDC Zambia has been hosting since 2011 engaging children below the age of 20 years.
He says the Teulings project at OYDC Zambia has continued to yield positive results adding that the foundation is now looking at seeing some of the athletes going to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
In addition, Bertels has applauded the Zambian government through the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ), sports federations and others for making sure that the OYDC Zambia gets the support it deserves to promote and develop sports at the grassroots level.
Some of the athletes who compete in the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge and are part of the Region 5 team are from basketball, football, volleyball, judo, netball, and boxing.
The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge awarding ceremony for the year 2022 will be held on 26 November at OYDC Zambia where top deserving young sports boys and girls will be rewarded with trophies and medals.
The Teulings Youth Sports Challenge is a youthful competition in Zambia which has been running at the OYDC Zambia since 2011. Since its inception, the competition has seen numerous athletes being selected to various national teams and clubs and subsequently taking part in youth Olympics, All Africa, AUSC Region 5 and Commonwealth Games. The league which is a household name is sponsored by Coen Teulings Chairman of the Merifin Capital in Belgium.
