ZAMBIA BASEBALL5 WIN TWO DAY COMPETITION AGAINST ZIMBABWE

Zambian Baseball5 players wrapped up the morning with a record win against Zimbabwe in the U18 “Exchange friendly” games staged at OYDC Zambia – Sports Development Centre.

On Thursday Zambia won all the U13, and U15 games played.

In the U18 Team A, game 1 Zambia thrashed Zimbabwe 15:8 while in the U18 Team B, game 2 Zimbabwe lost as Zambia won 14:5 to mark the close of the games.

Zimbabwe Baseball5 coach Destiny Matamba representing Antz Academy says the games in Zambia were a good experience and players will go back to Zimbabwe with a new skill.

He added that his players are looking at coming back to Zambia for another competition soon.

Zimbabwe had 47 players while Zambia had 60 players.

Zambia Baseball and Softball Association general secretary Kenny Matishi has expressed happiness that the games had a good representation of girls stating that the association wants to see more girls participate in baseball5 in the country.

The reigning champions for the games walked away with a trophy.
